HEALTH COACHING
Hello!
I’m Aggie, certified health coach, neuroscientist, and founder of AIR Wellness Health Coaching. I have a Level 5 Diploma in Health & Wellness Coaching from Health Coaches Academy (accredited by the NHS Personal Care Institute). I also have a BSc degree in Neuroscience (University of Manchester) and an MSc degree in Clinical Neuroscience (University College London), and I have worked in clinical neurophysiology (NHS) and neurological rehabilitation (private physiotherapy practice) settings.
My curiosity for brain health stemmed from living with my maternal grandmother who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, and later witnessing my grandfather with Lewy body dementia and caring for my paternal grandmother with vascular dementia. I often wonder how health coaching could have positively impacted all 4 of my grandparents.

Since, I have developed a special interest in women’s health after a personal experience with hormonal imbalance (read below). I believe that women and people with a menstrual cycle should not have to endure debilitating symptoms month after month, just because society has normalised them. I am passionate about helping my clients to flow through each phase of their menstrual cycle with more ease and control. In my own time, I love making ceramics, cooking vegan food, walking our dog, and travelling the world!

My personal journey
My early twenties were fun, but chaotic and unhealthy. I prioritised studying, working, and socialising over my health, and jumped from a demanding master’s degree to an NHS hospital environment during the pandemic. My stress levels were constantly high and I lost sleep trying to do everything. Nutritional deficiencies and lack of exercise contributed to my low energy. I drank coffee because I felt tired and unfocused, but this inevitably caused more sleeping difficulties. The cycle that I was stuck in was indicative of blood sugar dysregulation.
Around the same time, I stopped taking the contraceptive pill, originally prescribed for migraines in my mid-teens. I started experiencing fatigue, brain fog, mood changes, and skin breakouts during the week before my period. The heavy bleeding, pain, and cramping felt worse with every menstrual cycle. I gave into my sugar cravings and emotional eating. The pill had been masking these symptoms for many years, and without it they came flooding back. I was worried about my health and the impact that this could have on my fertility. I needed to start listening to my body and the symptoms that were warning me of the underlying issue - hormonal imbalance.
Meanwhile, I was becoming less passionate about the career path that I was on. I witnessed patients getting diagnosed with chronic diseases and permanent nerve damage on a daily basis. I realised that this outcome often could have been avoided, had they been better informed at a preventative stage and less dependent on an overstretched healthcare system. I felt helpless and frustrated for these patients, and intuitively knew that it was time for a career change.
Through my health coaching course, I am extremely grateful that I have had the opportunity to start healing my body, whilst simultaneously uncovering a career that gives me fulfilment and aligns with my personal values. I have applied the knowledge, skills, and coaching that I have gained to my own life. By following a blood sugar balancing way of eating and making conscious lifestyle habit changes, I have transformed my health and happiness. I believe that food is the most important medicine, and my purpose is to help others to experience the life-changing effect that sustainable health behaviour change can have. All of this is to say: if I can do it, so can you!
